Welcome to the winter that never ends! We’ve now had 36 consecutive days with snowfall! During this stretch over 160” of snow has fallen! And right now I’m standing in a yet another Winter Weather Advisory. 3-5” is forecasted. Tomorrow will be day 37!
The chairlifts are now running until 4:00 PM. Get out there and enjoy this pow! Also, we’re looking for more Mountain Ops staff to help us get through the rest of the season. Please apply online! If you hurry, you’ll be able to join us for our super-secret, employee-only ski day!
Next Saturday, February 29 we’re hosting an après-ski film night with Red Bull Media House & Faction Skis’ new movie “The Collective” and local throwback film “Rendered” from Scott Baxter of Aurora Projekt. Tickets are for sale at store.skieaglecrest.com and at the door!
The Powder Keg Cup is coming right up! It’s our after-hours, uphill-downhill race series held on three Saturdays in March. The 7th 14th and 21st. Each race will have a mass start at 4:30 at the base of Hooter. Everyone skins or split boards up the mountain and races back down. Last year we have 75 participants, hopefully we get even more.
This has been a great season to sharpen your skills. All you adult, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, check out the Snowsports School’s Ptarmigan & Beyond Workshop Series. Session 2 begins Saturday, March 7. Also, the all-day Women’s Camp is Sunday, March 8. It includes breakfast, lunch, and a bit of après ski. Sign up now! For the kids, we have $99 Holiday Camps over Spring Break and the three-week Spring Adventure Series starting March 14 or 15!
