Happy Summer Solstice from our staff on the mountain!

We’ve been taking advantage of the southeast Alaska sun and long days with chair maintenance projects underway. We currently have 2 full-time lift mechanics working on our 4 lifts – and working hard this summer to ensure things are operational and safe come the 24/25 operating season.

We are working on our annual NDT inspections where 20% of the chairs and chair clips/grips get tested on all of our lifts. We’re also in the midst of haul rope splice maintenance on Hooter and Ptarmigan. Our lift mechanic manager has participated in a number of splices in his career and we have a strong team to perform this project over the summer. We’ll remove all chairs around the splice project area and shorten the haul rope. This ensures longer life of the haul rope on Ptarmigan and Hooter.
