Sincere apologies, folks! Yesterday morning we mistakenly reported the snow streak’s dramatic conclusion! Our pesky snow reporter didn’t wait for Ski Patrol’s official summit measurement, which was in fact 0.4″ of new snow in the previous 24 hours. It may feel like a technicality, but the streak continues! NOW 50 CONSECUTIVE DAYS WITH SNOWFALL!

Here’s some background: Ski Patrol measures snowfall every 24 hours at the base and summit snow stakes, and we have recorded snowfall every 24-hour period since January 19th. Tomorrow will be day 51. It is snowing quite a bit up here! Storm total forecasts to be 8-10” by first chair on Monday, March 9th!

As for events, we’re making headway on our Closing Weekend Festivities. That will be Saturday, April 12th and Easter Sunday. More details soon! Parents: it’s time to sign up your students for the $99 Spring Break Camps and also the three-week Spring Adventure Series. Call the Snowsports School for reservations.

The Powder Keg Cup’s first race was yesterday, and we were down about 25 racers from last year! I know everyone’s legs are tired from shredding, but you’re missing out on a good time! The second race is next Saturday, March 14th and the final race is March 21st.

Nordic skiers have been enjoying fabulous cross country skiing on our trails. Conditions are as good or better than we’ve ever had at the moment. We offer lessons and classic-style rentals. And the Nordic Season Pass Add On is only $25. You can also rent gear from Foggy Mountain Shop and the Juneau Bike Doctor.

We still have five weeks left this season, 27 operating days, and you have plenty of opportunities to make use of your Season Pass, Flex Pass or Multi-Visit Card. This really has been an exceptional, deep winter! Big thanks to everyone for supporting Eaglecrest, buying tickets, lessons, and lunch. Hopefully, all of you get a Season Pass next year!
