We had an awesome opening last weekend. It was nice having to Hooter Chairlift running with lots of snow and lots of smiles! Big thanks to everyone for coming out and all our staff for making it happen. You can check out a recap video posted here.
Unfortunately, temps warmed up, we got some rain, and the snowpack got shallower. The conditions are super tough right now, and the snow depths aren’t deep enough groom with the snowcats or fill in problem areas.
Because of the low snow depths and challenging conditions, we won’t run Hooter Chairlift or the Snow Bus. Fortunately, we do have enough snowmaking on the beginner area to touch things up with the groomers. Eaglecrest will be open Friday through Sunday with the Porcupine Chairlift and limited terrain. School groups and lesson programs are on as scheduled.
If anything changes, we will be sure to update skieaglecrest.com/conditions and the Snow Phone (907) 790-2000 x2.
Santa is paying Eaglecrest a visit on Christmas Eve, and we’ll light the way for him with a torchlight parade. Parents, please be sure to register for the gift exchange at the online store. While you’re there you can also sign up for the $99 Holiday Camps over Christmas Break and the Multi-Week Youth Programs that start the first week of January.
The forecast shows snowflakes, but there’s not a lot of moisture behind it. We’re in a holding pattern until the next storm or snowmaking weather window. It’s still time to head to the mountains, enjoy what we have, and get a burger and beverage from the Grill, and après ski at Tower Bar.
