Winter is here! Opening Day is tomorrow, Saturday, December 7! We’ve got a foot of new snow in the last 48h hours, and reports are in that it’s standard, dense SE Alaska powder, turning lighter and smoother the higher you go, which is great news because…

Hooter Chairlift will run 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM; Porcupine Chairlift 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Come early! Grab a breakfast burrito! Get your pass printed, and test it out on our new RFID gates! Muskeg is the lone groomed trail. Low snow conditions and hazards exist; ski/ride with caution. Hooter Chairlift is open to advanced skiers and snowboarders only. There will be no grooming or easier way down. Rental equipment IS NOT allowed on Hooter.

Eaglecrest’s dog and uphill policies are in effect. Please review at skieaglecrest.com/policy. Hiking access above the top of Hooter is open, but there are no ski patrol services or avalanche control work. Travel uphill at your own risk.

Join us for après ski at the Old Tower Bar. The Snow Bus is not running. There will be no terrain park features.

NORDIC UPDATE

Eaglecrest and the Juneau Nordic Ski Club have been grooming the lower Nordic trails for the past three days with our new YTS roller. There’s a 4-5km route, no classic track. Conditions should be excellent. There has been nearly a foot of new snow since. Eaglecrest will groom again on Saturday & Sunday. The plan is to hit the trails after finishing the main mountain, around 10:00 AM.

The upper Nordic trails have been compacted with a snowcat, not groomed. It’s thin but skiable! Access by hiking up the Trickster trail. Pay your trail fees at the Ticket Office!
