Thanks for a great Opening Weekend. We were rewarded on Monday with 5″ of new snowfall (9″ in 48 hours) and perfect powder conditions. Tonight’s forecast is for 3-5″ of new snow and winds gusts as high as 45 mph. Another 2-4″ is forecasted throughout the day Wednesday, which means free refills!
The entire mountain has been open except West Bowl, Steep Chutes, and Trickster. Though, Upper Mountain terrain is still considered double black diamond in difficulty. Experts only. Ski with a buddy. No grooming. No easier way down. No rental equipment allowed on Ptarmigan. Be aware of rocks, obstacles, and other hazards below the snow surface.
Eaglecrest is open daily through Jan. 10th, except Christmas Day and January 7th. Ptarmigan, Hooter & Porcupine Chairlifts are scheduled to run 9-3 PM. Black Bear is on hold until there’s a deeper snowpack. Today’s groomed trails are Muskeg, Dolly Varden, Stickleback, Sneaky, Sourdough, Lower Hilary’s, Log Jam runout, Easy Bowl, Williwaw, and Motherlode.
