A great day at Eaglecrest is about more than fresh snow and fun runs, it’s about looking out for yourself and others on the mountain. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime pass holder, following the Ski & Snowboarder Responsibility Code helps keep Eaglecrest safe and enjoyable for everyone.
The Responsibility Code is your guide to smart decisions on the slopes. These common-sense rules are recognized across the ski industry and apply to all skiers and snowboarders.
The Responsibility Code
1. Always stay in control.
You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects at all times. Choose terrain and speeds that match your ability.
2. People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way.
It is your responsibility to avoid those below you on the slope.
3. Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
Avoid stopping in blind spots, narrow trails, or behind terrain features where others can’t see you.
4. Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
Make sure your line is clear before you go.
5. Prevent runaway equipment.
Use proper retention devices and make sure your gear is secured.
6. Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
They’re there for your safety.
7. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
Closures are in place for important safety reasons.
8. Know how to load, ride, and unload lifts safely.
If you’re unsure, just ask a lift attendant, they’re happy to help.
9. Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Clear judgment is essential for mountain safety.
10. If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information.
Exchange info with those involved and notify a ski area employee.
Safety is Part of the Fun
At Eaglecrest, we believe mountain safety and mountain fun go hand in hand. Following the Responsibility Code helps protect you, your friends, your family, and fellow skiers and riders.
Before you click in, take a moment to review the code and ride with respect for the mountain and each other. That’s how we keep Eaglecrest welcoming, safe, and fun all season long.
