What a weekend to remember! Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate Eaglecrest Ski Area’s 50th Anniversary and the opening of the Ptarmigan Chairlift this past week. Seeing our community come together to honor five decades of skiing, riding, and mountain memories was truly special.
The 50th Anniversary celebrations kicked off with an incredible turnout, shared stories, and a lot of Eaglecrest pride. From longtime locals who remember the early days to first-time visitors experiencing Eaglecrest for the first time, the energy on the mountain reminded us why this place means so much to Juneau.
Adding to the excitement, the Ptarmigan Chairlift officially opened for its first weekend of operations. Advanced and expert skiers and riders took advantage of the new access to Eastside and Westside terrain, embracing challenging conditions and variable snowpack to spring like conditions, this weekend had it all. Patrol and mountain operations worked diligently to open this terrain safely, and we appreciate everyone who respected signage and terrain closures while exploring this long-anticipated addition.
As we celebrate 50 years, we’re looking ahead to the future with gratitude for the community that continues to support Eaglecrest season after season. This milestone weekend marked not just where we’ve been, but where we’re going next.
Thank you for being part of the Eaglecrest story. We look forward to celebrating more turns, more memories, and many more years with you on the mountain.
See you on the mountain,
The Eaglecrest Team
