Christmas Break has been a blast! Eaglecrest is open daily for another week through Monday, Janaury 6th! Visit skieaglecrest.com/conditions for the latest updates from the mountain or call the Snow Phone (907) 790-2000 x2.
Another fun day on the mountain! 1.2″ of snow fresh snow at the top. West Bowl opened today with access from Pittman’s Ridge and the West Gate. We did close the ridge hike later in the afternoon due to thick clouds moving in, but not before plenty of great powder turns!
We are staring at an unfavorable forecast for early next week. Lots of moisture and temps are rising. Tonight’s forecasted low is 36°, and tomorrow will be 39° with rain. Bummer! Black Bear and above should hold out well enough, but we are concerned about losing snow on the lower mountain return trails where snowpack depth is only 14″. We will do everything can to keep the lifts spinning before temperatures get cold enough for more snowmaking, hopefully, this coming Thursday!
For tomorrow, the plan is to run Porcupine, Hooter, and Ptarmigan chairlifts 9am – 3pm. Things will be fluid (pun intended), so we’ll keep you posted. Check back here or call the Snow Phone. Groomed terrain is still minimal. Today’s trails were Muskeg, Sneaky, and Williwaw. Low snow conditions and hazards exist; our trails up the mountain are for advanced skiers and snowboarders only. All mountain services are open, including the Snow Bus.
