Eaglecrest’s uphill-downhill race, dubbed Juneau Skimo, returned in full force with a new route and in new powder! It was seriously nuking all evening and the racers trudged through fresh powder and low-visibility conditions to compete in this year’s Skimo race! Racers skinned up Log Jam, Raven, through the Raven gate and up the sideline to the top of Stairway to Heavenly, over the ridge, and down Motherlode. The fastest race time was 37 minutes and 26 seconds by Greg Talpey with other contestants right on his heels.
Prized we awarded to the fastest time, most ‘average’ place finish, and best costume! Thank you to Foggy Mountian Sports for donating prizes to the event and supporting the Coastal Avalanche Center!
