Fish Creek Road is a State Highway. Alaska DOT plows the road each morning prior to opening and will return as needed throughout the day. Eaglecrest is the highest road accessible point in Juneau. Be prepared for winter driving and use 4WD, AWD, studded tires, or chains whenever necessary.
Good Morning Juneau and Happy Christmas Eve! While this isn’t exactly the white Christmas of our dreams, we have rolled out all the bells and whistles to make the base area a Christmas wonderland. There's no better place to spend Christmas Eve, we’ve got food, cocoa, Christmas movies playing in the great room, two groomed trails, and a terrain park all ready for you.
It’s currently 36 degrees at the base area with light winds and super light precip. Your two groomed trails are Muskeg and Dolly Varden. Porcupine Chairlift will be operating from 9AM - 3PM. The terrain park has been refreshed (thank you for allowing us to preserve the features yesterday) and is ready!
We have your last-minute Christmas shopping covered! We’re not judging (because odds are, we’ll be buying last-minute gifts there too). Personally, I’m after the ski wax, a purple Eaglecrest hoodie, and a “Motherlode” keychain today. Retail/Repair shop is open from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
The Eaglecrest Grill and Mountian Lift Coffee are open today from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Come say hello to possibly the kindest chef and barista in all of Southeast Alaska. Both are inside Fish Creek Lodge
For those attending the Christmas Eve event, festivities start in the Fish Creek Lodge Great Room around 3-3:15 and we will signal for Santa’s landing with the torchlight parade around 4. Expect crafts, cookies, carols, and storytelling.
Friendly reminder: Eaglecrest is open Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day. We will resume normal winter-break schedule operations on December 26th.
We look forward to seeing you up here!
NORDIC (December 20) Good Morning Nordic Fans! Welcome back to Eaglecrest’s 49th ski season!
We are still waiting on more natural snow – both the upper and lower nordic trails are closed this weekend. We will be back next week with an update.
Keep thinking cold thoughts and doing your dances – the white stuff WILL come. In the meantime, feel free to come ride Porcupine from 9 – 3 Saturday and Sunday!

See Mountain Report. On operating days, uphill access is not permitted within the ski area boundary. There are three designated routes along the ski area boundary to access backcountry terrain, not Eaglecrest terrain. Please refer to the uphill route map and read the uphill policy. Eaglecrest reserves the right to suspend uphill access at any time for ski patrol and mountain operations. This includes operating and non-operating days and hours. Uphill skiers, snowboarders, and hikers are using the area at their own risk and assume all responsibility. Always read the Mountain Report or call the Snow Phone before visiting. |
