Fish Creek Road is a State Highway. Alaska DOT plows the road each morning prior to opening and will return as needed throughout the day. Eaglecrest is the highest road accessible point in Juneau. Be prepared for winter driving and use 4WD, AWD, studded tires, or chains whenever necessary.
Good Morning Eaglecrest skiers and riders! Happy happy New Year from our team to yours. If you haven’t skied yet in 2025, come on out and slide on snow with us! Looks like it could be the last chance to get those clear skies, calm winds, and insane views because we’ve got some weather rolling in tonight/tomorrow. Dare I say - something white? Temperatures are currently 19 at the base with calm winds. Start this year off right by sending good omens into the universe with some big Dolly turns, Muskeg whirlybirds, or just being on snow. Don’t forget to pack all your layers when you do!
Porcupine is operating from 9 AM - 3 PM. The Retail Shop is open and The Eaglecrest Grill is open. We will keep you posted on when and if the park re-opens today.
Exciting news: the park has been rebuilt and rebranded! We’ve got the beginner park, friendly for almost anyone comfortable on skis/boards. There’s a new Shmedium park below it - with more features. Come check it out for yourself. We will update you when it’s officially open. We’re calling the terrain park, “The People’s Park”. It’s a park for the people, and while we wish it was powder to the people - we’ll give it all we've got with a Park for the People! More news and a story on this to come. For now, enjoy it because we built it for you.
With the winds subsiding, we will be turning snowmaking back on this morning. Steer clear of hoses, pipes, and any staff out on the hill adjusting the snowguns. Watch out for slower spots where the manmade snow accumulates.

NORDIC (December 28) Good Morning Nordic Fans! Welcome back to Eaglecrest’s 49th ski season!
We are still waiting on more natural snow – both the upper and lower nordic trails are closed this weekend. We will be back next week with an update.
Keep thinking cold thoughts and doing your dances – the white stuff WILL come. In the meantime, feel free to come ride Porcupine from 9 – 3 Saturday and Sunday!

There are three designated routes along the ski area boundary to access backcountry terrain, not Eaglecrest terrain. Please refer to the uphill route map and read the uphill policy. Eaglecrest reserves the right to suspend uphill access at any time for ski patrol and mountain operations. This includes operating and non-operating days and hours. Uphill skiers, snowboarders, and hikers are using the area at their own risk and assume all responsibility. Always read the Mountain Report or call the Snow Phone before visiting. |

The National Weather Service’s Juneau Office provides extended forecasts for Eaglecrest at 1,600′ and 2,400′ above sea level. For reference, the parking lot is at 1,130′ and the summit is 2,750′.
