Learn to Ski Weekend is Saturday and Sunday, January 25 and 26. Thanks to Mendenhall Auto Subaru, Eaglecrest will provide two full days of free ski lessons, rentals, lift tickets, transportation, and lunch to a group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders!

This weekend is reserved for Juneau area students who have never skied before. Selected participants will spend two full days on the mountain having fun, making friends, and learning how to ski!

Parents may register their children online via skieaglecrest.com/forms. Hard copy application forms will be distributed through the Juneau School District. Email [email protected] to request a PDF version. Please call (907) 790-2000 x211 for more information!

WHAT TO BRING & WEAR

Lunch and ski equipment will be provided: skis, boots, poles, and helmet. Make sure you child has a good breakfast and drinks water in the morning.

Students will need a warm jacket, snow pants, and one pair of thick socks. Mittens will keep your child’s hands warmer than gloves. It’s smart to pack an extra pair in case they get wet. Helmets are provided, but a hat is a good for before and after the lesson.

On especially cold days, it helps to use a neck gaiter or balaclava and goggles to protect from blowing wind and snow. Hand warmers are great too. Have them dressed in layers and pack extra so they’re comfortable in changing conditions. These tips will all will keep children much warmer, safer and happier.

If you need to add to your wardrobe, you can shop conveniently and locally at the Eaglecrest Retail Shop, Nugget Alaskan Outfitter, Foggy Mountain Shop, and Second Wind Sports.
