Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau Ski Club, Alaska Powder Descents, and Coastal Alaska Avalanche Center are excited to announce that the Snovember film series is returning to Eaglecrest for three nights of mountain films and festivities!
Locations vary for each event:
Night #1: Warren Miller’s Daymaker:
Saturday, November 12th: 4pm Doors / 5pm Show. Goldtown Drive-In Theater: $50 tickets/vehicle
A killer storm cycle in the Monashees. Adaptive backcountry riding like you’ve never seen before. The ultimate grass skiing run. Alaska (twice). Come along for the biggest days with Karl Fostvedt, Michelle Parker, Katie Burrell, Daron Rahlves, and more in the 73rd annual Warren Miller film. Then get ready for your own. Because there’s no better day than one out on the hill.
Night #2: Teton Gravity Research’s Magic Hour:
Saturday, November 26th: 4 pm Doors / 5 pm Show. Eaglecrest Fish Creek Lodge $15 Tickets/$30 + dinner (Pulled Pork Sandos + Tower Bar will be open with beer and wine)
Magic hour is not so much a particular time of day as a culmination of powerful moments in some of the most beautiful, wild places on the planet. For 27 years, Teton Gravity Research has been searching for the right place with the right crew at the perfect time to experience life at its fullest. Between the thrill of the hunt and the peace of floating down a mountain, the sum of our experiences becoming greater than its parts is what we seek. If you ask us, our annual snow film Magic Hour is just that.
Shot on location in: Jackson Hole, Alaska, British Columbia, Montana
Night #3: Northern Aspects Film Festival:
Saturday, December 2nd: 7:30pm Doors / 8pm Show. Goldtown Nickelodeon Theater: $15 Tickets. This event is 21+.
Alaska is a legendary center in the ski world. As Alaskans, we want to celebrate the incredible skiing and adventures shared in these mountains we all love – and the community created by these shared experiences.
This is a film festival for Alaskan locals: made by Alaskans, skied by Alaskans, and showcased by Alaskans. From steep spine lines to Turnagain powder meadows or Hilltop toddler magic carpet laps, we love it all.
About Snovember
The Snovember Film Series was created by Chris Miller and Sandy Miller and has long been a mainstay event for Juneau’s outdoor enthusiasts. Eaglecrest is honored to host this year’s Snovember events, but must first thank Chris and Sandy for their generous and big-hearted efforts to build excitement for winter and raise funds for the community over the years. Sandy is the skier featured in the photo above, and Chris is the photographer.
Proceeds will benefit Juneau Ski Club, Coastal Alaska Avalanche Center, Alaska Powder Descents, and Eaglecrest. For more information, contact Kristen Strom at (907) 790-2000 x4298 or [email protected].
