We hope everyone had a great Christmas! After a day off, Eaglecrest is back open and will be open daily through Monday, January 6. Ptarmigan Chairlift is serving the upper mountain with East-side terrain only from the top.

Please note: our uphill policy is in effect. On operating days, uphill traffic is restricted to three designated routes along the ski area boundary line. There is no hiking allowed anywhere in the ski area: the Ridge, East, Middle, or West. Review at skieaglecrest.com/policy.

It’s currently snowing at the top of the mountain (31° with stiff SE winds, 25 knots). Rain at the base (35° with ESE winds, 5-10 knots). It’s still a storm day! Conditions should be excellent up high, turning to sticker and heavier snow further down the mountain. Groomed trails are Muskeg, Dolly Varden, Sneaky, and Williwaw. The forecast is calling for another 2″ by day’s end. The base picked up 3” of new snow in the last 48 hours, after receiving 11” over the previous two days. The top has 9″ of new after receiving 7″. It has been awfully wind affected in the higher elevations. You’ll find deeper pockets in the trees!

Ptarmigan, Hooter, and Porcupine lifts are running until 3pm. We will be de-icing Black Bear after the rest of the mountain is operational, but we don’t expect to open that lift today. All mountain services are open, including the Snow Bus, Nordic Trails, Ski Shop, Rental Shop, Snowsports School, Mountain Lift, Eaglecrest Grill, and Tower Bar. Early season conditions and hazards do exist; at this time our trails up the mountain are for advanced skiers and snowboarders only.
