A MOUNTAIN FIELD TRIP
School groups of all ages and sizes are invited to Eaglecrest for a fun day of learning on the mountain! Program participants are required to take lessons, which are offered at significantly discounted rates.
Please review this page for information about how to organize your school group and make reservations with Eaglecrest Snowsports School.
If you and your students are new to the world of skiing and snowboarding, please read our First Timers Guide.
School groups are eligible for specially discounted lessons, lift tickets, and rental equipment packages. The coordinating teacher & staff will be offered a complimentary lesson, lift ticket & rental package for the day.
Students who already have a Season Pass or Books 2 Boards Membership must bring their pass and information with them to the mountain, otherwise they will have to purchase a lift ticket. All Juneau 5th graders will receive a complimentary lesson, lift ticket & rental package for the day as part of our 5th Grade Passport.
Students who already have skiing or snowboarding equipment are welcome to bring their own gear or grab it from a family locker.
$11 Lift Tickets
$11 Rental Equipment
Eaglecrest partners with First Student and will arrange bus transportation. Buses generally accommodate 40 students, depending on students’ age and the amount of gear. Buses are scheduled to arrive at least one hour prior to the lesson’s scheduled start time to allow for mountain orientation and rental equipment fitting.
$110 Per Bus
Upon arrival, Eaglecrest Staff will greet your students and lead them to the Great Room inside the Fish Creek Lodge for a brief orientation prior to the lesson. Our locker room will be open for students with stored equipment, and students who need to rent equipment will be assisted through the rental shop. It’s helpful for any additional staff and chaperones to assist getting the students outfitted.
Students will be grouped together based on ability level and discipline (skiing or snowboarding). Staff will be on hand for those who are not chairlift independent. The lesson will run from 1.5 to 2 hours before breaking for lunch. Students may pack their own or purchase food from the Eaglecrest Grill.
If the bus schedule allows, students are more than welcome to go back out on the mountain for more skiing and snowboarding after lunch. Eaglecrest staff will supervise and implement a buddy system so students can explore the mountain.
School groups are required to make advance reservations. Parents can register their students online with our School Group Registration Form. Paper forms are available upon request. All forms must signed by a parent or guardian and submitted at least ten (10) days prior to the scheduled lesson date.
Teachers may request that Eaglecrest staff come to your school classroom to cover safety, gear, and what to expect on the ski date. Please have a date in mind upon reservation request.
